Solar Hot Water Solutions can reduce your CO 2 levels as much as planting more than 200 trees

FG Trew are able to supply solar panels for hot water heating, this allows the consumer to take advantage of renewable and sustainable energy. By using the sun's direct and diffused rays solar panels collect the energy and turn it into heat for heating water in a cylinder for use around the home.

The myth is that the panels will only work in summer months. The panels respond to daylight and will therefore work even in cloudy conditions.

A typical well sized solar panel system should provide up to 60% of the hot water requirements for the home annually.

You will collect useful energy from the solar panel collectors every day they are on the roof. There will be days inevitably through year where the boiler has to do a little more work and 'top up' the cylinder to reach the set temperature.

To get the most out of the panels you need to make sure that they are located as south facing as possible on your property. Solar panels compliment gas and oil boilers.

Solar Panels harness the power in both direct and diffuse sunlight and convert the energy to heat for the production of hot water for the home. The solar panels have been designed as a complement to existing heating systems which use a store of hot water in a cylinder.

The existing cylinder is exchanged for a cylinder with two heat exchanger coils; one from the boiler in the property and a second from the solar panels.

A typical well sized solar system should provide around 50% of the domestic hot water requirements of a home, representing a very worthwhile saving on hot water heating costs. The remaining hot water requirement is provided by the boiler.

FG Trew is a company focused on providing simple and effective solutions for families and businesses concerned about the effects of climate change and rising energy costs. FG Trew solar thermal systems are widely used in both residential and commercial applications to provide hot water, space heating, industrial hot water and even air-conditioning.

Installing just one solar thermal collector can reduce CO 2 levels as much as planting more than 200 trees and is the perfect choice for people wanting to become part of the SOLUTION by reducing their carbon footprint.

A Solar Collector or Solar Water Heater is a device that absorbs thermal energy from the sun and converts it into usable heat. The heat is normally absorbed by water, or a freeze resistant water mix, which can then be used to supplement hot water heating, space heating and even space cooling via use of an absorption chiller or dessicant cooler technology.

Why choose a Solar Hot Water Solutions

Save £££'s on Energy Costs
Solar collectors can provide 60 to 70% of a household's hot water needs (averaged over a year), thereby considerably reducing monthly bills.

Reduce CO2 Emissions
The average household can reduce CO2 emissions by more than 2000kg each year by installing a 30 tuve Apricus solar collector**

*Subject to instulation, system size and usage.

Domestic or Commecial
Domestic Solutions
FG Trew Solar Collectors are ideal for domestic hot water and space heating applications. They can be installed on almost any roof type and even on walls. Apricus Solar Collectors have been designed with aesthetics in mind, so they will actually become a proud feature of your house!

Commercial Solutions
FG Trew Solar Collectors are effective at producing large amounts of heat for hot water production, space cooling or industrial processes. Due to the high efficiency of the evacuated tubes, heat levels can be reached (>120oC/250oF) which are far beyond the capabilities of flat plate panels.

How it works!

The operation of the solar collector is very simple.

1. Solar Absorption: Solar radiation is absorbed by the evacuated tubes and converted into heat.

2. Solar Heat Transfer: Heat pipes conduct the heat from within the solar tube up to the header.

3. Solar Energy Storage: Water is ciruclated through the header, via intermittent pump cycling. Each time the water circulates through the header the temperatures is raised by 5-10oC / 9-18oF. Throughout the day, the water in the storage tank is gradually heated.
